   sony nav-u 92 is slow to pick up signal, the size is the best I have seen so far but that does not make up for the frustrating interface that turns off when you input an address slightly out of a major city… overall, DO NOT BUY IT!!

   I was reluctant to buy a Sony GPS because of the reviews but bought U73T on salr. After updating the firmware to 3.02 it is superb! I also own a TOMTOM One 3rd edition which is good but compared to the Sony is not great. Sony’s dual view capability is awesome especially in North America. I would refrain from saying negative things about it any more as it is great unit!

   Sony has shit GPS units…very slow and the latency is painful. BestBuy has many Sony units being returned by their customers. If you want to know how many are returned ASK. Also check it out on Consumer Reports.

   This is shit. Super cool TV’s btw (I own one).

   I bought it in Italy, 20 days ago, with all european maps and I payd 300 euros for it.
   Nice screen, I upgraded the software to the new version, but maps are out of date and sony hasn’t done anything yet to publish an update.. another problem is that it takes a lot to find sat signal!! Go to Tom Tom or Garming, I think they are quite better..

   I’ve bought nav-u 93, it’s nice but the maps are 2-3 years old, I hope sony will give soon a new version of the maps.. at the moment it is totally useless!!

    The acceleration senors are a great idea!
    The suction cup is also great!
    The short hand commands are great!

    But how good is the routing algorithm and voice nav?

    Please tell us about any bugs.

    The only difference between the Nav-u 92 and the nav u 93 is that the nav u 93 have handsfree (bluethoot) and have a better processor ( 532mhz or something )
    have a nice buy! ( i have the 92 =(

    That was a really good review. Thanks man! I think I’ll go with the Sony instead of the Tomtom 720. The dash installation is unbeatable.
